Using followOS Email with Square

followOS turns the customers in your Square account into an email program: it writes and designs your campaigns and flows from your real sales history. Nothing sends until you approve it.

1. Connect your Square account

Open Integrations in followOS and click Connect Square, or start from the followOS listing in the Square App Marketplace. Square asks you to approve read access to your merchant profile, customers, orders, and items. Approve it and you land back in followOS with Square connected. If you started from Square without a followOS account, you will be asked to create one first; the connection attaches automatically.

2. What followOS reads from Square

  • Customers: name, email, and whether they have opted out of marketing. Customers without an email address, or who have unsubscribed, are never emailed.
  • Orders: completed order totals and dates, aggregated per customer into total spent, number of orders, and last purchase date. Card numbers and payment details are never read.
  • Items: your catalog names and photos, so campaigns can feature what you actually sell.

followOS never writes to your Square account. It does not create customers, orders, or items, and it cannot take payments.

3. How the sync works

Your customers sync the moment you connect, again whenever you click Sync customers, nightly as a backstop, and within seconds of a new walk-in customer being created in Square (through Square webhooks). Synced contacts live in followOS and, if you use one, in your connected email platform.

4. Audiences built from your sales

Describe an audience in plain English (for example, "people who bought twice but not in the last 60 days") and followOS builds it from your Square order history. Every campaign and flow can target these audiences.

5. Campaigns and flows

Pick a campaign type, an audience, and the items to feature. followOS writes and designs the email; you edit it in the studio and approve it. Flows (welcome, win-back, post-purchase) are planned and written the same way and run automatically once you turn them on.

6. Checking the connection

Under Integrations the Square card shows your business name, when it was connected, and when it last synced. If Square stops honoring the connection (for example, after you remove followOS in your Square Dashboard), the card shows Reconnect Square and nothing runs until you approve again.

7. Disconnecting

Click Remove on the Square card. followOS revokes its own access at Square immediately and deletes the stored token. Your synced contacts stay in followOS because they are your data; delete them from Contacts if you want them gone. You can also remove followOS from Apps in your Square Dashboard, which has the same effect.

8. Pricing and support

followOS Email is one plan, described at followos-email.com/pricing. There are no per-contact or per-send fees on top of it. Questions or problems: email info@follow-inc.com.
